Product description
Description
Recommended for surfaces exposed to pollution and high functional load – due to high abrasion resistance and low absorptiveness, it is perfect for places exposed to these factors: on facades of schools, shops, sport facilities, buildings situated along communication routes, for staircases, corridors, etc.
The main characteristics
• outstanding colour durability
• perfectly coating and efficient
• highly resistant to contamination with algae
• self – cleaning ability
The main parameters
• 400 colours
• consumption: 1 l of paint for ca. 7 m² (on smooth surfaces)
Series description
Painting is one of the most common techniques of façade refurbishment - improving its aesthetics and resistance to outdoor conditions. ATLAS façade paints allow our Customers to finish their house the highest quality products. Rich colour pallet meets the expectations of any, even the most choosy tastes, and wide range of types enables choosing of the most suitable finishing layer.
Good façade paint should be resistant to unfavourable influence of:
• water - in a form of rain and air humidity
• sun - change of temperature and UV rays causing the façade fading (colours fading)
• chemical compounds - contained by polluted air and acid rains which contribute to render and external façade layers deterioration
The most important components of paints are:
- the binder – determining their properties
- the pigment – giving them the required colour
- fillers – ensuring good covering.
Types of ATLAS façade paints
- Acrylic paints – ARKOL E
Finishing coats executed in ATLAS acrylic paints are elastic and are free from own strain. Therefore, they do not crack during setting and also transfer strain resulting from e.g. thermal deformation which the sunlit façade is subject to perfectly. Acrylic paints, unlike other façade paints, e.g. silicate ones, are chemically neutral (pH value of ca. 7-8) and are therefore more friendly to the painter since they do not irritate skin. ARKOL E paints are used in many untypical cases. They cover small scores in the substrate very well (thanks to the elastic coating) or hinder its carbonatization, forming a tight coat.
- Silicate paints – ARKOL S
Due to their chemical composition, ATLAS silicate paints are the most related to mineral substrates and therefore are particularly recommended for painting of this kind of surfaces. Owing to chemical bonding with the components of mineral renders, they adhere to them perfectly. Moreover, they penetrate deep into the pores of a mineral substrate, perfectly reflecting the texture of the painted surface. ARKOL S paints are resistant to the aggressive components of mineral renders. This feature enables painting such renders even before their carbonization period has finished, without the risk of discolouration. This reduces the technological break, required after the application of the render and painting it, to about three days. Apart from that, the paints are resistant to precipitation, ageing and aggressive components in the natural environment. The effect of application of a silicate paint is the creation of a porous coat perfectly permeable for water vapor and gasses. ARKOL S paints have very high alkaline reaction (pH reaching even 12) and therefore perfectly “cooperate” with a mineral render and protect themselves against algae and fungi.
- Silicone paints – ARKOL N
Silicone resins in this type of paints create a water tight coat. Due to this characteristic they form a self-cleaning surface - dirt and dust do not penetrate the structure of the paint and are washed by rainfall. Exceptionally low absorbability changes the painted substrate into an environment much less susceptible to microbiological contamination. Water stops on the surface painted with a silicone paint and does not penetrate into the wall, leaving it dry.
